This policy explains what information Compiled Binary (a one-person studio; “I”, “me”) collects through this website and through the mobile apps and games I publish on Google Play, the Apple App Store and Steam (together, the “Products”), and what I do with it. The short version: I collect as little as possible, I never sell your data, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.
1. Information I collect
Information you give me
If you email me (for example for support), I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it only to reply and to help you.
Information collected by a Product
Many of my Products work entirely on your device and collect nothing. Where a Product does collect data — for example anonymous crash reports, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers when it shows ads — the exact data and the third-party services involved are listed on that Product’s page and in its store listing’s data-safety / privacy section.
Information collected by the stores
When you download or buy a Product, Google, Apple or Valve process your account and payment details under their own privacy policies. I receive only aggregated, non-identifying sales and usage reports from them.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or trackers. Your light/dark theme choice is stored only in your own browser. My hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
2. How I use information
- To provide, maintain and fix the Products.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Products are used so I can improve them.
- Where a Product shows ads, to serve and measure those ads through the ad provider listed for it.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for any purpose not described here.
3. Third-party services
Some Products use third-party services (for example Google AdMob, Firebase, or Steamworks). These services process data under their own privacy policies, which are linked from the relevant Product page.
4. Data retention
Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you and then deleted. Data held by third-party services is retained according to their policies and settings.
5. Your rights and data deletion
You can ask me at any time to access, correct or delete any personal data I hold about you. Email helloworld@compiledbinary.com with the subject “Data request” and the name of the Product. I’ll respond within 30 days. See also how to delete your data.
6. Children
My Products are not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, contact me and I will delete it.
7. Security
I use reasonable measures to protect the information I handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I keep what I collect to a minimum to limit any risk.
8. Changes to this policy
If I change this policy I’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the affected Products’ release notes.
